Steering Gear Repair Completed at Qinglan Anchorage

Kingfisher successfully completed a full overhaul of the steering gear at Qinglan Anchorage, Hainan in June 2026. The vessel got the S/G abnormal coitional unexpectedly had to be anchored at a draft of 12.8m to do the repair.
Kingfisher launched an immediate emergency response upon receipt of the vessel’s fault notice and immediately deployed an 11-person team (4 divers + 7 steering gear technicians) to carry out full afloat repair with a comprehensive on-site repair plan and spare parts supply urgently and timely. Benefiting from our efficient and well-coordinated on-site execution, the entire overhaul was tightly controlled. This shortened the vessel’s idle laytime and reduced the off-hire time.

In Oct. 2025, the propeller trimmings, repairs and FINCAP installations for two Supramax from a Bangladesh owner have been completed in COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard and COSCO Guangdong Shipyard.
